Southern Wells Music Dept. Needs Support

The Southern Wells Music Department is currently facing the threat of cuts, and the music boosters at Southern Wells are seeking to preserve the music department.

Music teacher Sue Coolman has a hearing with the school board Thursday, April 16, at 6 p.m. in the elementary school library, which is open to the public. Details of who will be able to speak at the hearing and how much time they will have are not yet known.

The music boosters are requesting that supporters of the Southern Wells Music Department write a letter of support for the current program so that it is not downsized or cut. Grades K-12, instrumental and vocal, are potentially affected by the proposed cuts.

Please send letters to Rhonda Stoffer at stoffer@citznet.com. The boosters request that letters be sent by Friday, April 10 to ensure time for the letters to be copied for the board members.
