This portion of the show also featured two amazing young pianists in 6th Grader Dane Jesse and also Risa Wang. (Risa performed after the 8th Grade Band, which led me to believe she was an 8th Grader, but a check of the photos shows her playing in the 7th Grade band.
Either way, she was playing Beethoven, and at her age, I couldn't even spell his name much less play his music (on any instrument!)
Dane was pretty impressive too, although I didn't catch the name of the piece he performed.
Also on the weekend, the 6th and 7th Grade bands also competed in ISSMA competitions at Garrett, with both gaining gold ratings. So it seems Norwell has a whole bunch of talented young musicians coming through the ranks!
