"Nit Wits" at Norwell This Weekend.
Glenn Hughes’ 1930’s fast-paced farce "The Nit Wits" has been chosen as this year’s spring play at Norwell High School, and 26 students, led by Carson Tubbs and Jerod Evans (pictured above from Monday's rehearsal, with Tubbs standing) will be strutting their stuff on the stage.
Tommy Winter, played by Tubbs, is a college freshman who has been unable to find work over summer to raise money to pay for his education. With his parents due to leave town on vacation, he hatches a cunning plan, advertising his services as a consulting psychologist to help cure people who are afraid they are losing their minds. He convinces his friend Steve, played by Evans, to help run his “home business”, but things don’t quite go as smoothly as Tommy and Steve had thought they might, and chaos, with a twist, results.
Susan Khan is the play's director, with Devan Filchak assisting, and also in one of the main supporting roles.
The play will run Friday evening, April 17, at 7 p.m. and Saturday afternoon, April 18, at 2 p.m. Admission is $5.
More photos from Monday’s rehearsals will be posted here over the course of this week.
