Southern Wells Hosts Raider Classic Saturday


Southern Wells will host the annual Raider Classic Show Choir Invitational Saturday.


Last year, Bluffton’s Musical Entourage (pictured above, competing at Norwell last year) took top honors, giving their brand new director Elyse Breeding a golden start to her career. Musical Entourage will be back again this year, competing in the Mixed Choir division at 1 p.m. 


As host choir, Southern Wells is not eligible to compete, however New Horizons will perform their routine as an exhibition at 2:20 p.m. 


There will be competition in Ladies Choir, Mixed Choir and Solo competition.  


Awards are given for each division along with outstanding vocalist, instrumental, Tech Crew, and Choreography and overall Grand Champion.


Doors open for the event at 8 a.m., with the Ladies Division competition starting at 9:30 a.m. 


A morning concessions with donuts and juice will be available from 8 a.m. until sold out, while lunch, which will include the Southern Wells Music Boosters famous Taco Salads, will also be served. 


Tickets to the event cost $5. The full schedule for the event is as follows:


Ladies Division:

9:30 a.m.:  Bellmont High School L.E.G.S.

10 a.m.: Garrett High School Rhythm Connection

10:30 a.m.: East Noble High School Premiere Edition 


Mixed Division:

Noon: Bellmont High School Brave Generation.

12:30 p.m.: Crestview High School Knight Vision.

1 p.m.: Bluffton High School Musical Entourage.

1:30 p.m.: East Noble High School Knight Rhythms.


Solo Division:

2 p.m.: The top three soloists from this competition will present a public performance. 

 

Exhibition Performance:

2:20 p.m.: Southern Wells High School New Horizons. 


The presentation of the awards will directly follow New Horizon’s performance.
