"Metals For Music" Raises More Than $3,200

The “Music For Metals” fundraiser organized by the Norwell Marching Knights on June 12 raised more than $3,200.

Held at the Norwell High School parking lot, the fundraiser enabled residents to dispose with old metal items, which were then turned into cash  to help raise funds for the band program.

“On behalf of the Music Boosters and the Norwell Marching Knights we thank you one and all for all your help!” band booster President Clark Stoller enthused.

The money will go to help with keeping the band fees as low as we can so that as many students as possible can afford to participate.

Marching Knights host "Metal For Music" Fundraiser

They’re not quite trying to turn lead into gold.

But maybe it’s the next best thing.

Saturday, June 12,  Norwell’s Marching Knights will be hosting a “Metal For Music” fundraiser. Band members and supporters will be collecting old metal items, and then turning them in for cash to help raise funds for their band program.

Band members and supporters will be in the high school parking lot from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. to collect any items that are delivered. The knights will also have a crew available to pick up any items, should a donor be unable to deliver the item.

Most metallic items will be accepted, but not propane tanks or glass. (See the flier above for the full list!)

The project is a green initiative, and is designed to help the community, as well as to support the Marching Knights.

For further information, contact Kirk Bennett on 615-8456.
