Big Open Mic Night Planned for the Brew Ha!

Saturday evening (Nov. 28,) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. will see the next Open Mic Night at the Brew Ha! in Ossian.

This is a great chance for local entertainers, both veteran and beginner, to strut their stuff in front of an audience - and a great chance for those of us who don't have the talent to come and enjoy the skills of those who do!

Several performers have already made these evenings a regular part of their schedule.

One of these is Kyle Hinshaw, a native of Murray who has just moved back into the area. He plays his own soul searching creations and is accompanied on some of the pieces by his sister. Bill Hambrickanother returning Wells County resident plays and sings in his smooth style and soothing voice. He performed in coffee shops in his college days and has continued sharing his talent since.

Dobie Pierce, perhaps better known for her duties at the Ossian State Bank, has a great singing voice, and together with her husband Rob, will be returning on the 28th along with Tom CushmanTom, and the calming atmosphere his music provides, have been to the Brew Ha! many times.

Also expected to make appearances on the 28th is Alex Mendez, who has become a regular feature at The Brew Ha!over the course of this year. There will also be several new faces, with Will Gerber and Brandon, Jayson and Hayda Dallich, (former Wells County residents who currently live in Fort Wayne) and Derrick Penrod and Olivia Anderson all also signed up.

This month's Open Mic Night promises to be quite a show. Get there early and get a good seat, and sooth away all that shopping fatigue with music and relaxed comaraderie.

And of course, check out the work of this month's featured artist, Megan Bowman.

Megan is a Wells County native studying Graphic Design at Huntington College has a wonderful collection of mixed media work on display. Besides her painting and drawing she enjoys photography and has some pieces from each of her chosen fields.

NEW at the BREW HA!

The Brew Ha! has just started carrying chocolates hand made by Becky KlitzBecky, originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania makes wonderful creations - not only good tasting but fun to look at. Check out her church decorated for Christmas and a choclate sleigh. The Brew Ha! has a few chocolate samples out to whet your appetitie.

The Brew ha! also now carries Swissland Cheese of Berne, serving it on our sandwiches, and with a small selection for retail sale. Come in and try a sample. Anyone who attended the Ossian Revitalization Wine Tasting fundraiser last year had the opportunity to try these fine cheeses. The Brew Ha! can place special orders on Fridays to be delivered the following Wednesday. So if you need Lemon Zest, Chipotle or Tomato Basil Pinenut cheese (or a huge variety of other flavors) for a special occasion or just to keep on hand for your family (nobody more special than that) you now have a source right in Ossian.

OSSIAN EVENTS

One more upcoming event you will not want to miss is the Ossian Down Town Tree Lighting and Santa Box CeremonyThis will take place on Sunday night, November 29 at 6:00 PM next to the libraryThe library will be open so people can stay warm before and after. The Brew Ha will be providing free Hot Spiced Cider and Hot Chocolate and Subway is donating cookies for the event. Event organizers hope to have someone singing and leading songs, and note that anyone sending Santa letters through the Santa Box will receive a reply as long as they include a return address on the letter. Come sing along on the 29th.
